Pumpin Iron
A bunch of shit happened, then I was walking through a dark hallway with Zach Solomon. He went off down the hallway and I walked through a door that led to an outdoor pool. I was aware at this point that the pool was part of Western's campus. It was nighttime and I remember thinking it was cool that I could come out here and go night swimming if I wanted to at some point. Instead though, I went back inside through another door into the weight room. It was empty except for two or three machines and a dip bar, which was occupied by Levi Nelson and some other dude. I was surprised by the fact that the weight room had apparently shut down, and I asked them about it. They didn't seem to know. So I left and went up to the front desk to see what the deal was, I guess I really wanted to pump some iron. The front desk was a giant crescent shape and had about five or six pairs of employees sitting at computers all along the inside of it. I remember skipping over one alcove that contained an attractive girl in favor of one with a much more homely female, because I 'didn't want to deal with that shit'. So I said to her that, "I have two questions. One. Where is the weight-lifting equipment?" She said that they had moved the weight room because of liability issues, and that it would save us all some money in the economic crisis. She then spun the computer monitor around and made me fill out some forms to use the new weight room. As I was doing this she was telling me how to get to the new weight room. She said something to the effect of going up to north campus and walking down the road way to the end, or something like that. The only part I remember word for word is that she said I would "pass an impeccable power station". I did think this was slightly odd at the time.
